Listening comprehension and learning new words could be challenging when learning a second language (L2). In this seminar class, we will discuss behavioral and neuroimaging studies to explore the cognitive and neural underpinnings of L2 speech perception and word recognition (both visual and spoken). Students are expected to read journal articles or book chapters and take turns leading class discussions.
