Welcome to my website! I was recently a postdoctoral researcher at Vanderbilt University, Peabody College, in the Department of Psychology and Human Development. I work in the Communication and Language Lab where I study language processing and language production, specifically in the domain of intonation (the rise and fall of pitch as we speak; in essence, not what is said, but how it is said). My work more broadly touches on the question of how successful communication happens: how do speakers successfully choose what to say, and how does a listener correctly interpret the speaker’s intended meaning?

I obtained my undergraduate and master’s degree in Linguistics from the Ohio State University. I also hold a master’s in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Rochester, and a PhD in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Linguistics from the University of Rochester.
